BAKER Martin Scaife has again proved himself to be a rising star in the athletics world - by representing England in the Gothenburg half-marathon.
The 31-year-old, from Stockton, who works at the Morrisons store on Darlington's North Road, was the fourth British athlete to cross the line in an event which attracted 30,000 entrants.
And it was not the first time that Martin, who took up running 20 years ago, had tasted success.
"I've enjoyed a number of successes while running for England at home and abroad," said Scaife.
"Apart from Gothenburg, I have also been taking on some of the world's best runners at events in Bahrain and Tokyo while closer to home I will be part of the Great North Run in September.
