At Snetterton on June 8 Darlington driver, Keith Penman, managed a creditable third place whilst racing in his VSR6.

In qualifying, on a very wet track, the gamble was taken to use slick tyres, as it was thought the track would dry Keith kept the car on pace although at times when exiting the corners the back of the car wobbled.

The team and Keith managed to place the car sixth on the grid and from here a very clean start was achieved as Keith climbed to first within four laps.

With Mike Doble on his tail Keith left the door open on exiting the Bomb-hole and Doble stole the lead. Steve Offer was now fighting for second place and managed to take it, this left him with Keith snapping at his heals with some very entertaining driving.

Keith gained on him till two laps from the end when the car developed a wobble when cornering. This lost the chance of regaining second and Keith crossed the line in a credible third.

The wobble was caused by a collapsed front wheel bearing which was replaced for race two but after a very quick start the race came to an abrupt end for Keith when the front wheel came loose. Next up is Mallory on Sunday.
