Tow Law New Market B opened the new season with a victory in the decider at Tow Law Rose and Crown.

The home side began with wins from Tony English and Christine Rand before Michael Bell put the visitors on the board. Steve Morris scored the home side but then Phil Spencer and Tom Hauxwell levelled at the end of the singles. The first two doubles but shared but the New Market went to victory when Joe Jordan and Tom Hauxwell beat Vena Gwynette and Dorothy Mowbray.

The reigning champions, Esh Stag's Head went down by the odd point at home to Sunniside Comedian. Dave Hindmoor and John Hodgson took singles for the Stag's, whilst the Comic went ahead with wins from George Whitfield, Dave Walton, John Cheesemond and Alan Reilly. The Comic clinched victory when Ray Johnson and Alan Reilly took the first doubles with the home side taking the last two.
