Wolsingham Club maintained their unbeaten record and the top spot in the table with a comfortable win against an enthusiastic Tow Law All Stars.

The Club batted first and nipped through for quick singles at every opportunity as well as adding a liberal number of boundaries. The opening pair of Nigel Percival and Derek Elliott both made 25 before two hard hitting, quick fire innings from Stephen Peart with 25 and David Gillies with 26. When the overs ran out Wolsingham Club had made 158. Tow Law All Stars' lack of match practice showed up when they lost their wickets cheaply. Some determined defensive work kept the innings running but they were never in with a chance of reaching the Club's massive target and were dismissed for 39.

In a vital match for both teams, Wolsingham Mill Race edged through to a 21-run victory over Eastgate Cross Keys. With the final positions in the table deciding the draw for the semi-final knock-out stage, both teams needed a win to strengthen their hopes.

The Mill Race batted first and their first three batsmen laid the way to a good score of 103 when Richie Hanlon made 28, Richard Cramb 25 and James Ivil 24. The Cross Keys opened but then there was a batting collapse as the team was dismissed for 82.

Weardale Steel made 82 all out against Wolsingham Teachers with Ken Dawson with 26 and Colin Jackson with 18 leading the scoring. The Teachers replied with Kenny Walton, making his first appearance of the season, top scoring on 19 and Graeme Dalton adding 17 as they ran through to a comfortable victory.

Wolsingham All Stars hit 132 when the overs ran out against Stanhope Grey Bull. The Grey Bull replied with their highest score of the competition when they reached 94 when the overs ran out.
