Bowburn pulled off the shock of the season when they restricted the visiting reigning champions, Leeholme to a single point. Having won three of the rinks, Bowburn were level in the last and were level with one bowl to go. However they decided not to disturb the end and took the draw to win by 78 shots to 68.

Mainsforth failed to get away from the foot of the table when they only managed to take one point from the visiting Pelton Fell. Reigning champions, Vane Tempest have moved into winning mode after a poor start to the season. They made their third consecutive victory with an odd point success at Cockton Hill, who were delighted by their improved performance as they only lost by 67 shots to 72. The derby at Willington saw the visiting Crook Glenholme go away with a draw, having won one rink and adding the aggregate win. Sherburn moved five points clear at the top of the First Division with Leeholme and Crook Glenholme sharing the second place, five points ahead of Willington.
King George V recorded their first win of the season in the Second Division with a two points success over the visiting Durham City. Addison Park lead the Second Division by six points from Chilton, who are one ahead of Langley Park A. In the top against bottom of the Third Division, Cockton Hill B whitewashed the visiting Spennymoor C to move six points clear of Spennymoor B, who are two points ahead of Bishop Auckland. Cleveland County
Both County men's teams struggled at Nottinghamshire last weekend. The Adams team lost 142-173, managing only two points. The only winning rink was Steve Slaughter (Ian Serginson, Alan Kilburn) but three other rinks were only beaten by one shot each. The Newton team managed only one point from a drawn rink but again two rinks were just edged out by single shots.
The ladies team had better results against Humberside. Although the Silver Jubilee team did not win overall they claimed wins on three rinks with Noreen Fleming (Christine Porteous, Norma Stephenson) taking top rink.
The Donald Steward team is in fine form this year with their second win in a row 133-128. Top rink in this game was Di Smart (Muriel Judson, Veronica Henderson) with a 26-17 win. The men next play at Smiths Dock on June 28.
