PERFORMANCES of song, poetry and dance at Darlington Arts Centre yesterday marked the end of a year's work for pupils from Mount Pleasant Primary School.
The performances were all linked to the school's Gateways scheme, which has been run with the Creative Partnerships group in the Tees Valley.
Pupils, parents and teachers have worked throughout the year with sculptor William Pym, poet and textile artist Rowena Somerville and other arts specialists, to explore the history of the ancient track running beside the school.
Creative Partnerships is a non-profit-making scheme to give children from disadvantaged areas the chance to be creative.
