A JUBILEE concert organised by Rotarians has helped raise more than £6,000 for Darlington charities.
The Late Late Jubilee Show, which was staged at Darlington Civic Theatre by the town's Rotary Club in March, attracted an audience of more than 900 people.
At a ceremony this week, cheques for £2,500 were presented to St Teresa's Hospice and the Giving Tree Appeal, and £1,000 to the Mayor's Charity Fund.
An extra £2,000 raised at the concert will be held in Rotary funds and given to other good causes throughout the year.
The show was devised by Councillor Roderick Burtt and Alan Cowie, and involved musical performances by local pupils.
