JOB opportunities have been announced following two large units being let at the Viking Enterprise Zone in Jarrow.
ANC Express Parcels and Libra Seafood Processing have taken 20,000sq ft and 15,000sq ft respectively.
ANC offers domestic and international parcel delivery services.
It employs 58 people but anticipates employing a further eight to ten staff in the next 12 months.
Mike Heslop, franchise manager of ANC, said: "Moving to larger and more prestigious premises, such as our new unit at Viking Enterprise Zone, is essential in order to achieve business growth."
Libra Seafood Processing is a newly-formed company, which processes seafood and supply's national and international customers.
It has signed a 12-year lease on the Viking premises.
The venture has created 20 jobs and the company hopes its success will lead to a further 12 to 14 employees being taken on in the next 12 months.
Paul Bruce, marketing director of Libra, said: "After viewing numerous properties, Viking seemed ideal, offering everything we needed in one package."
