A WILDLIFE enthusiast has moved back to her family's roots and undergone a dramatic career change to be in North Yorkshire.
After spending years in America, Victoria Chester-Kerr has made her way back to the county where her family can be traced back to 1612.
She has switched from working in the legal profession in New York, and later Hampshire, to accept the post of chief executive of the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust (YWT), which is based in York.
"The outstanding Yorkshire countryside is one incentive to move north, but a bigger reason is the opportunity to work with YWT's committed team of staff and volunteers," she said.
With 80 nature reserves in her area, she will become involved in campaigns to help threatened species, such as otters and water voles.
"I am proud to be moving to Yorkshire and I know YWT will achieve even more over the next few years," she said.
