ONE of the country's favourite gardening shows came to the North-East yesterday.
Radio Four's Gardener's Question Time paid a visit to Chester-le-Street in County Durham and recorded a question and answer session at Durham County Cricket Club's headquarters.
A panel of leading gardening experts including John Cushnie, Bob Flowerdew, Roy Lancaster and chairman Eric Robson answered questions on a wide range of green-fingered topics.
The production team also visited three gardens in the area to record questions for the programme.
About 300 people attended the recording at the cricket club's Riverside ground.
The programme is due to be broadcast at 2pm on Sunday, July 13.
"It's all gone very well,'' said assistant producer Jo King. "I wouldn't say that the programme has never been to Chester-le-Street before, but it is at least the first time in ten years."
