There were some outstanding performances in the Cleveland School Athletics Championships at Clairville Stadium, Middlesbrough.

Dean Daniel was the star of the meeting with a record breaking 21.9s for 200m following his recent success at the North of England Indoor and Outdoor events. Other top performances in the intermediate age group came from James Minter (800m), Gavin Hill (Discus) and Lee Costelle (Javelin).

Lewis McElwee was the top performer in the junior boys section with his 100m and 200m with Alex McGill also winning the long and triple jumps. Joe Corrigan was pick of the preliminary boys winning both the 100m and long jump.

There were three double champions amongst the intermediate girls. Alanda Crow (300m/Long Jump), Emma Payne (200m/75m Hurdles) and Caroline Sellars (100m/High Jump).

Faye Winspear was the outstanding junior girl athlete with wins over 100m and 200m.
