BUDGET airline bmibaby will today announce a number of new routes out of Teesside International Airport.
The low-cost flyer announced earlier this year it was establishing a hub at the airport to complement operations in Cardiff, Manchester and the East Midlands.
The Northern Echo understands that only a handful of flights will be announced today, with a further wave of destinations unveiled next spring when bmibaby makes Teesside the base for two aircraft.
The move will generate 50 jobs at the site.
Bmibaby has indicated it will only fly to existing, established destinations from Teesside.
It already flies to Amsterdam, Brussels, Prague, Paris, Munich, Geneva, Salzburg, Milan, Toulouse, Nice, Pisa, Barcelona, Palma, Ibiza, Alicante, Murcia, Malaga and Faro.
