A MAN is due to appear before magistrates charged with conspiracy to supply controlled drugs.

The 38-year-old Middlesbrough man was arrested by officers from the Cleveland Police Organised Crime Unit and Durham Police, at Teesside Airport yesterday as he arrived in the country from Amsterdam.

He has been bailed and will appear before Teesside Magistrates' Court on Friday.

The arrest was part of Operation Falcon, which was launched to crack down on organised crime.

The operation began last week with a blitz in Cleveland which tackled the supply of cocaine and its distribution from Teesside throughout the north.

Officers from West Yorkshire Police arrested a 34-year-old Bradford man yesterday in connection with the supply of controlled drugs. He has been released on police bail.

Detective Sergeant Chris Sadler, from Cleveland Police, said: "Operation Falcon is continuing and we are expecting to make further arrests."
