Air, the agency developing an arts strategy for Richmondshire, has announced dates for summer band concerts throughout the district over the next few weeks.
Revitalising a musical tradition in the Dales, the concerts are planned on Sundays and on August Bank Holiday Monday and begin with a performance by Reeth Brass Band at 3pm on Sunday, on Low Green, Catterick Village.
The remaining concerts are by Muker Silver Band, in Gunnerside, Reeth Brass Band, in Middleham Market Place, and Richmond School Wind and Steel Bands, in Friary Gardens, Richmond - all at 3pm on Sunday, July 6; Reeth Brass Band, on Eppleby Village Green, at 3pm on Sunday, August 3; Muker Silver Band, in Friary Gardens, Richmond, at 3pm on Sunday, August 10; Reeth Brass Band, in Scorton, at 3pm on Sunday, August 17; Muker Silver Band, in Muker, at 3pm on Sunday, August 24; and Hawes Silver Prize Band, at Bainbridge, at 1.30pm on Sunday, August 24, Leyburn Market Place at 12.30pm on Monday, August 25, and Aysgarth at 2.45pm on Monday, August 25.
