A HARRY Potter tableau made by a Darlington townswomen's guild has gone on display in the town centre library.
The Salutation Guild won a competition to create a book title design with their interpretation of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
Fourteen members worked for five weeks on the design, which portrays a banquet at the Hogwarts School and a quidditch match.
The attention to details in the scene extends to the meal, which includes the use of Brazil nuts and peanuts to create a realistic looking roast chicken.
Guild member Joan Chaplin said: "I did the whole design, but later on I wondered why I had made it so complex because it took a lot of work. But we had a tremendous team spirit."
The scene was donated to the central library, in Queen Street, where it is now on display.
It is hoped to use it in the library's family learning programme and be taken out on a tour of the town's schools.
