Two North-East men have been named among the six Royal Military Police killed in southern Iraq.
21 year old Corporal Simon Miller from Tyne and Wear and Lance Corporal Benjamin John McGowan Hyde, 23, from Northallerton were included in the list of six soldiers who died on Tuesday.
All men were part of 156 Provost Company, attached to 16 Air Assault Brigade, and based in Colchester, Essex.
Their bodies were recovered from a police station in Al Majar Al-Kabir yesterday, the Ministry of Defence said.
The other victims of the attack are: Sergeant Simon Alexander Hamilton-Jewell, 41, from Chessington, Surrey; Corporal Russell Aston, 30, from Swadlincote, Derbyshire; Corporal Paul Graham Long, 24, from Colchester and Lance Corporal Thomas Richard Keys, 20, from Llanuwchllyn, near Bala north Wales.
Forty-two British troops have died - 19 in accidents - since the war began March 20.
At least 18 US soldiers have been killed in Iraqi attacks since May 1, when major combat was declared over.
