A businessman has come up with a solution to a problem faced by many asthma sufferers.
Tony Talbot designed the Coolbox - a container for inhalers - which allows the medicine to be carried anywhere.
The container has a pop-up lid and comes with a grip which allows it to be attached to a belt, pocket or clothing, which means sports enthusiasts with the condition have ready access to their inhaler.
The product was developed after Business Link helped with a successful application for a Micro Smart award for technical development.
The award, granted to companies which employ fewer than ten people, helped Mr Talbot, of West Witton, North Yorkshire, with the costs of developing a prototype.
He said: "I do a lot of running and, like many people with asthma who participate in sport, I have to carry an inhaler.
"The Coolbox means sports people can reach their inhaler quickly, which is particularly useful when they are doing something such as horse riding or cycling.
"We hope children will also be attracted to the fun colours and designs relative to their chosen sporting activity and, by definition, will be able to use their inhalers easily and safely while they are playing or riding their bikes."
Business Link's innovation and technology advisor Roger Benson said: "I am delighted we have been involved with such an innovative product with a genuine, functional benefit, which will help remove any stigma younger children may have in taking this particular medication."
