STARS of the West End musicals and Northallerton businesses have been donating items for a grand fundraising auction.
The auction is due to take place in Northallerton Town Hall on Wednesday, July 2, at 7.30pm, and has been organised by Northallerton Amateur Operatic Society to raise funds for their production of Hello Dolly, which will be performed at Hambleton Forum in October. Items for auction include two tickets to see Cleo Laine and John Dankworth at Harrogate on July 18, together with a backstage pass to meet them after the show, a tour of Middlesbrough Football club for four, a book and CD from Su Pollard, audio tapes of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban read by and donated by Stephen Fry, a tie worn by Richard Whiteley on Countdown, a script for Auf Wiedersehen Pet signed and donated by Tim Healey, a round of golf for four at Romanby Golf Club, a meal for two at the Cleveland Tontine and many more. Ideal for the autograph hunter are many signed photographs of stars of the stage and television.
Everyone is invited to place their bids at the auction, helping to raise money for equipment and props for the society.
