THE singing talents of pupils at Greenfield School, Newton Aycliffe, have been recorded on a compact disc.
Headteacher Mike Thornton initiated the project at the specialist arts college in collaboration with colleagues Alan Hunt, Margaret Berwick, Sandra Whitton, Frank Ridley and Barry Dobson.
The project involved the head of performing arts, Peter Simpson, being released from the usual school timetable to work in Sugar Hill, Byerley Park, Stephenson Way, St Francis and Elmfield Primary Schools over six weeks.
Mr Simpson worked with pupils to help them write music and lyrics to the songs, which have been recorded on to a compact disc and distributed to each of the schools.
