TWO burglars who raided a home while a family slept upstairs have been locked up.
Brian Redman, 20, and a 16-year-old also took a car belonging to the householder's son.
Newcastle Crown Court heard how the pair targeted the home in Devonshire Street, Sunderland, on January 18.
Redman, of Coldstream Avenue, Sunderland, was convicted of burglary and aggravated-vehicle taking.
Judge Tim Hewitt sentenced him to 18 months in a young offenders' institution.
The 16-year-old pleaded guilty to burglary and aggravated vehicle-taking and was sentenced to an eight-month detention and training order.
