A MAN was shot in the eye with a pellet gun at the weekend, police revealed last night.
The 24-year-old, who has not been named, was making a telephone call in West Sunniside, Sunderland, at 12.55am on Saturday when he was hit.
The pellet lodged under his eye socket, but the man is not believed to have suffered any lasting damage to his eye.
In a separate incident yesterday, shots were reported in Clementine Close, Hendon, and a car was damaged.
A 17-year-old youth was arrested in connection with the second incident.
