PREPARATIONS are well under way for this year's Lanchester Show.
The event, in the village from July 5-6, includes horse and pony classes for most breeds, a wide range of trade stands, a new craft tent, food vans, beer tent and catering.
Children are invited to bring their own dogs, with the possibility of a pet dog race.
There will be falconry, gun dog and ferret displays all weekend, with a fully registered Kennel Club dog show on Sunday.
On Saturday, there is a car boot sale in the top half of the field adjacent to Esp Green Farm.
Other popular attractions include a vintage machinery section with motorcycles, cars, tractors and collections of machinery.
There will also be a ploughing competition with an opportunity to see and experience how it was carried out in years gone by.
The reigning world ploughing champion will give a demonstration.
Entry fee is £2 adult, £1 children and concessions.
