A SUSPECTED thief is recovering in hospital after plunging 25ft through a factory roof while trying to evade police.
Northumbria Police said the 19-year-old, who has not been named, was one of three people who climbed to the roof of a building belonging to Acet Limited in St Mary's Street, Silksworth, Sunderland, where he fell through a skylight.
He was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital with a suspected broken wrist, elbow and shoulder.
Last night, he was bailed to appear at Farringdon police station.
Police were alerted at 7pm that there were suspected intruders at the factory.
A spokesman said that three juveniles and an adult, all from the Silksworth area, were also arrested in connection with the incident.
