A YOUNGSTER is to have her dream come true when she performs at Wimbledon tomorrow.
Abi Curry, 11, from Carlton, near Stockton, has been invited to give a display of exhibition drills on Centre and Number One court.
Already a star at her club at Tennis World, Middlesbrough, Abi is rated third in the country in junior tennis.
Her father, Dave, said: "We are really very proud of Abi. She works hard at tennis after school and on weekends and makes a lot of sacrifices, and it is nice that her hard work will be rewarded.
"She is very excited because she also gets to meet some of the players, with passes to the players lounge, and it is just a dream come true for her."
Abi, a pupil at Red House School, in Norton, near Stockton, was picked to perform her drill by the Lawn Tennis Association and will be joined by three other 11-year-olds from around the country.
She has also been given the chance to hone her skills later this year at a three-day training camp at Bisham Abbey.
Graham Clarkson, development officer at the British Lawn Tennis Association, said: "Abi is a talented young player, and if she continues this sort of progress she could be picked as one of the few most promising young players to go to Leeds for special training."
