A LARGE contingent of the more mature members of Tees Rowing Club took part in the National Veteran Regatta at Nottingham.
Paul Buckworth gave an outstanding performance to win three medals, winning gold on his own in the Veteran B single sculls, gold with Johnnie Cooper, David Cooper, and Hugh Pelham in the Veteran B quads, and silver with Hugh Pelham in the Veteran B doubles.
The men's Veteran D and E fours and the Veteran D eight put up good performances but unfortunately against competition from all over the country they finished outside the medal positions.
The ladies Angela Warburton, and Janet Wilkinson won gold in the Veteran C double sculls.
Not to be outdone the younger members of the club competed at Durham City regatta on Saturday and Sunday. There was good competition from colleges, universities and other clubs.
All crews performed well with the Ladies Senior 3 four (Angela Warburton, Tina Stiller, Sarah Stocking, and Katy Wilkinson), and the Ladies Novice four (Sarah Harker, Sarah Douglass, Fiona Ventress, and Amanda Noel) winning their events.
