A MAN from Sunderland has been charged and is due to appear before the city's magistrates following a series of drugs raids by police.
The 34-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday in an operation co-ordinated by West Yorkshire police's drugs and organised crime squad.
He has been charged with possession of class A and B drugs, believed to be amphetamine and cannabis, and will appear before Sunderland magistrates on July 4.
Police have made public details of further arrests as part of the operation which targeted addresses across the north of England.
Fourteen arrests were made in all including that of a 31-year-old woman, arrested in the Doxford Park area of Sunderland, and a 49-year-old man from Newcastle.
Both have been bailed by police pending further inquiries.
