CRIES of Lights! Cameras! Action! could be heard at a mining museum after it was transformed it into a film set.
Called The Accident, the silent film at an ironstone mining museum in Cleveland has been made by primary school children.
The film depicts the hard life of the miner in the not-so-good old days and children direct, produce and star in a simple story about a mining accident.
Volunteers at the Tom Leonard Mining Museum at Skinningrove, received £6,250 from the Museums and Galleries Education Project to make the film. They contacted Hummersea Primary School in Loftus to provide 18 actors, a producer and a director. Museum activities co-ordinator Mick Benson said: "The children have really enjoyed it and they've learned something too. They learnt about film and something about being a miner.
The film will be shown in the school and there are plans for a premiere at Loftus Town Hall. The children also researched the film.
