HUNDREDS of children took part in the Darlington Primary Schools Athletics Championships.
They pupils competed over two days in field and track events at Eastbourne Sports Complex and Abbey Junior School.
The events were split into competitions for pupils from the larger and smaller schools in the borough.
The large school section consisted of: Skerne Park, Mowden, Harrowgate Hill, St John's, Reid Street, Heathfield, Corporation Road, Springfield, Dodmire, Whin-field, Abbey Road, Alderman Leach, North Road, Firthmoor, and Bishopton Redmarshall.
The small schools section contained: St Augustine's, Polam Hall, St Bede's, Cockerton, Gurney Pease, Mount Pleasant, St Teresa's, Sadberge, Middleton St George, Rise Carr, Holy Family, Hurworth, Redhall and Heighington.
RESULTS (small schools section) 400m: Year six boys - 1 Chris Gaffney (Heighington); 2 Daniel Goodchild (Holy Family); 3 Jarrod Lamb (St Bede's). Year five girls - 1 Rebecca Noble (Holy Family); 2 Olivia Robson (Cockerton); 3 Joanne Bartlett (Hurworth).
80m: Year five boys - 1 Ben Sanderson (Hurworth); 2 Bradley Dye (Hurworth); 3 Liam Browne (Gurney Pease). Year five girls - Beth Rodgers (Polam Hall); 2 Olivia Nicholson (St Augustine's); 3 Karen Jackson (Hurworth).
Year six boys - 1 Paul Jefferson (Holy Family); 2 Thomas Metcalf (Cockerton); 3 Darren Swanky (St Augustine's). Year six girls - 1 Emma Galbraith (St Augustines); 2 Gemma Taylor (Cockerton); 3 Molly Thomas (St Augustines).
60m: Year three boys - 1 Sam Hardy (St Augustine's); 2 Joseph Crees (Holy Family); 3 Mathew Brown (St Augustine's). Year three girls - 1 Alyshia Stacey (Rise Carr); 2 Katie Ferguson (Hurworth); 3 Sophie Hird (St Bede's).
Year four boys - 1 Steven Husband (St Bede's); 2 William Newcomb (Cockerton); 3 Liam Franklin (Rise Carr). Year four girls - 1 Lyndsey Cartwright (St Teresa's); 2 Rebecca Ellwood (St Bede's); 3 Brogan Hodgson (Polam Hall).
4 x 80m relay: Boys - 1 St Augustine's (Darren Swanky, Theo Lyonette, Sean Hodgson, Daniel Wridley); 2 Heighington (Lewis Ellwood, Chris Gaffney, Mark Baldwin, Nick Baldwin); 3 Gurney Pease (Jordan Grieves, Ryan Turbutt, Joe Clare, David Binks).
Girls - 1 St Augustine's (Emma Galbraith, Molly Thomas, Leah Gordon, Olivia Nichols); 2 Hurworth (Karen Jackson, Charlotte Harker, Sabrina Baker, Joanne Bartlett); 3 Holy Family (Rebecca Noble, Louise Commett, Elisha Currie, Charlotte Johnson).

Year six boys - 1 Jac Bradley (North Road); 2 Mathew Carnelley (North Road); 3 Nathan Trotman (Harrowgate Hill). Year six girls - 1 Ashleigh Bell (Corporation Road); 2 Kate Blaylock (Abbey); 3 Faye Bowles (Harrowgate Hill).
60m: Year three boys - Jack Garbutt (Mowden); 2 Dean Naylor Reid Street); 3 Jim Wilson (Dodmire). Year three girls - 1 Marran Turner (Mowden); 2 Mary Storey (Abbey); 3 Beth Clare (North Road).
Year four boys - 1 Arron Brown (Reid Street); 2 Zac Tervi (Alderman Leach); 3 Adam Jackson (Harrowgate Hill). Year four girls - 1 Emma Coward (Harrowgate Hill); 2 Charlotte Smart (Abbey); 3 Rachel Rissetto (Whinfield).
