TWO teenagers have been arrested following a police pursuit through a busy town centre.
Officers were alerted at around 1.15pm today that a suspected stolen vehicle had been spotted in Whessoe Road, Darlington.
The white Ford Escort car, containing two men, was then reported to be parked in Longfield Road before travelling to Haughton Road.
Police officers pursued the vehicle and the police helicopter was also in attendance in a bid to track its movements.
The car was stopped in Haughton Road, at 1.45pm, close to the junction at Hundens Lane.
One of the occupants of the vehicle ran off but was arrested five minutes later.
Two Darlington teenagers, aged 16 and 19, were arrested on suspicion of stealing the vehicle and were taken to Darlington police station for questioning.
