A SCHOOL has spent the week celebrating receiving a coveted arts award.
Rise Carr Primary School was given a national Artsmark Award from the Arts Council of England for its dedication to the arts.
All this week, pupils have been taking part in dance, drama, music and painting workshops to mark their success.
Their work has been on the theme of Flying High and yesterday, local dignitaries and parents viewed the results of their efforts.
Darlington MP Alan Milburn visited the school on Thursday to see the youngsters at work and find out why the Artsmark was presented.
