A SERVICE will be held in a Hartlepool church next month to commemorate Sea Sunday.
The Mission to Seafarers Belfast port chaplain, Reverend Douglas Goddard, will preach at the town's All Saints Church, on July 13 from 11am.
It will be a family service with a parade by Hartlepool Sea Cadets. Representatives of the Royal Naval Association and Hartlepool Merchant Navy Association will also attend.
Sea Sunday is when the Church remembers and prays for seafarers, their families and ministers. It is organised by The Mission to Seafarers, the Apostleship of the Sea and the British and International Sailors' Society.
After the service, a buffet lunch takes place at the home of the Mission's North Tees chaplain Ken Cornforth at 154 Elwick Road, Hartlepool. Lunch costs £5.
