A MATHS challenge with Peter Pan and Tinkerbell will be staged in Durham.
About 1,200 primary school children aged between five and 11-years-old will descend on County Hall, Durham on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to see a play called Treasure Islands.
It will be performed by teenagers from Deerness Valley Comprehensive School and aims to show children that maths can be fun, as they solve sums on the way to the final scene.
Shirley Fall, from Durham County Council's education development service, said about 50 schools will take part in the three-day event.
She said: "This is our fourth Durham Primary Maths Challenge and in the past we've had children and adults dressed as aliens, Victorians and Phileas Fogg types travelling the world.
"With the Treasure Islands theme this year, we expect to see Wendys, Tinkerbells, Peter Pan and lots of pirates, but, hopefully, no live parrots or ticking crocodiles."
