Tow Law Area League: Cornsay Royal Oak moved one point clear at the top of the table after they only dropped three points on their visit to Tow Law New Market B.
The visitors had singles points from Sonia Windsor, Tom Cairns, Joe Close and Ray Young with the home side replying through Michael Bell and Gavin Tennant. Tom Dowson and Doris Elsbury pulled back a point when they took the first doubles for the new Market, but the Oak took the last two doubles for a good win.
Tow Law Station were stretched at home before they edged through against Tow Law Rose and Crown by the odd point to stay in second place in the table, one point ahead of Sunniside Comedian and Esh Stag's Head. The Station had singles points from Ron Kitching, Norman brown, Shaun Kenny and John Campbell whilst George Gwynnette and Tony English replied. The Station ensured themselves of victory by taking the first doubles but the visitors made the score respectable by taking the final two doubles.

Crook League
Willington Market missed their chance of closing the gap on the leaders when they went down in the deciding doubles at home to Crook Travellers Rest B. The home side had wins from Derek peacock, Micky Toward and John Blackett with Jimmy Singlewood, Bill Fairhurst and Aaron Cowan levelling. In the deciding doubles the Travellers pair of Neil Campbell and Bill Fairhurst beat Sid Trow and John Blackett.
Willington Brewer's Droop won a vital match at Crook King's Head in the Second Division. The King's managed singles points from Stephe Gill and Andy Palmer but the Brewer's had singles wins from Brett Fleming, Ian Stoker, Vince Conaty and Jimmy Fleming with Billy Wragg and Vince Conaty adding the doubles.
Crook Belle Vue lead the First Division by seven points with Crook Royal Sun in second place with a match in hand and six points ahead of Willington Market, the Travellers Rest B and the Queen's Head A.
Willington Brewer's Droop lead the Second Division by two points from Hunwick Club, who are four points ahead of Crook King's Head.

Tow Law & District League
Three teams who had vastly differing results last week share the top spot in the table. The former leaders, Tow Law Football Club crashed to a whitewash defeat at Tow Law Rose and Crown, who had wins from Anthony Ward, Lee Mowbray, Steven Todd, Dave McCubbin and John Mudd.
Tow Law Dan's Castle B, who were in second place, also went down but only by the odd point at Tow Law Station.
Alan Ogilvie, David Fernandez and Christopher Reed won for the Station with John Murray and Anthony Lee replying.
Newhouse Club shot up to share the top spot when they never dropped a point on their visit to Tow Law Dan's Castle A with wins from Harry Dinsdale, Rob Day, Dave Morris, Graeme Thompson and John Brown.
Billy Lyle of Tow Law Football Club continued at the top of the Captain's Table with a one point advantage over Angela Suddes of Dan's Castle B, with Alan Ogilvie of Tow Law Station sharing the second place.
