Durham Coast League U18s: Oone game went ahead because of the inclement weather and Seaham Park easily had the better of Castle Eden.
Batting first, they realised a healthy 122 for seven which included 52 by Asam Akhtar and 22 by David Morton. Chris Tudball took two for 29 and Carl Kebby had two for 30 for Castle Eden, who in reply were all out for 71. Varley was in good form with the ball for Seaham Park taking four for 13 and Ritchies returned three for 14.
The games between Hylton and Dawdon, Ryhope v Boldon CA and Bill Quay against Peterlee were all postponed without a ball being bowled.
ECB County Competition
Durham played Lancashire at both U13 and U15 levels and had mixed fortunes.
In their U13 game Durham defeated the visitors by eight wickets after Lancashire posted 133 for nine. Scott Borthwick was Durham's man of the match taking three wickets for 26 runs in 14 overs and Scott Birks had two for 23 from the six overs he sent down.
In reply, Durham were indebted to Borthwick for his 53 while Thomas Raine also batted well and top scored with 60 out of a total of 135 for two.
In their U15 fixture Durham lost a high scoring game to Lancashire by five wickets. Karl batted throughout the Durham innings ending unbeaten on 70 out of a total of 170 for nine before Lancs replied with 174 for five.
Federation Special Durham Senior League U15s
The majority of games were affected by the weather but two teams celebrated handsome victories.
Philadelphia went to South Hetton and after posting 113 for the loss of just one wicket, restricted the home team to just 47.
Thomas Raine was in good form with the bat for Phili ad his 49 included five boundaries while Jonathan Loach was not far behind his colleague in the scoring stakes. He contributed 43, finding the boundary line on six occasions.
Batting second, South Hetton struggled for runs especially against the bowling of Loach and Luke Anderson. Loach sent down four overs taking two for 14 while Anderson had two for two from the four overs which he delivered.
Boldon managed to stag their fixture with Hetton Lyons at Sunderland Road but suffered a ten wickets defeat .
Riddle took two for seven, Michael Walker two for eight and Barry two for nine for the Lyons and in reply, the visitors romped home as Walker carried his bat for 24 and Cane added 23 not out.
