A REPORT on potential solutions to Northallerton's flooding problems is to be looked at by the local authority.
Members of the Hambleton Flood Forum have already had a chance to study the detailed document - and were warned by North Yorkshire County Council's environment director it could take longer than expected to implement.
However, Hambleton District Council's cabinet has requested an opportunity to examine the report, and hopes to be able to make a contribution towards a solution.
"I want a report to cabinet at the earliest opportunity in order that we can assess this council's contribution to funding these solutions in a holistic way with North Yorkshire County Council and other agencies," said Councillor Arthur Barker.
"This is in line with assurances given to the residents of Northallerton that this council would act in partnership to fund properly costed schemes when they were presented."
