IRELAND'S newest boy band topped the bill at a street festival on Saturday.
D-Side performed at Word of Mouth, a week-long youth arts festival in Hartlepool, which ended yesterday.
Hotly tipped to become the next Westlife, they entertained youngsters with their first hit, Speechless, and new single Invisible on the TFM Radio outdoor stage in Victory Square.
Word of Mouth is organised by Hartlepool Borough Council and backed by companies and organisations in the town to celebrate the creativity of 12 to 24-year-olds.
"This weekend was a tremendous finale to the youth and arts festival, with a smashing line-up of sparkling young musical talent," said Claire Munroe, council marketing officer.
"Saturday afternoon and evening were absolutely magical."
As well as the bands, crowds saw eye-catching street theatre, skateboarding stunts and performances in the town hall theatre.
Hartlepool United Youth Team hosted a keepie-up competition and a martial arts demonstration was followed by a series of workshops.
A mural painting workshop was held in Middleton Grange Shopping Centre and there were drumming sessions in Church Square, featuring musical group Urban Strawberry Lunch.
