A PARTY of 26 youngsters from the area surrounding the former Chernobyl nuclear plant, in Belarus, were given a guided tour of Sunderland's National Glass Centre at the weekend.
The visit was one stop on a month-long annual visit to the region, organised by support group Chernobyl Children Lifeline.
The visits aims to provide the children, from an area still suffering fallout from the nuclear plant explosion in the 1980s, with clean air and a healthy environment.
