Comedian Jim Davidson is being sued for more than £250,000 by a former teacher who claims she suffered severe back injuries in a fall at an entertainment complex run by the entertainer.
Retired deputy headteacher Mary Kyne, 51, of Newcastle, claims she slipped and fell while walking in the Wellington Pier Complex in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk in 1999.
Norwich County Court heard yesterday that Mrs Kyne left teaching two years after the incident and claimed to have suffered severe damage to her spine.
Mr Davidson was the leaseholder of the pier at the time of the incident, although he no longer runs the complex.
The court was told that Mr Davidson denied liability and intended to dispute Mrs Kyne's claim.
The case is expected to be heard in October.
