A HYPNOTIST'S record breaking attempt will help to raise vital money for a toddler suffering from a form of cerebral palsy.
Well-known hypnotist David Knight will be attempting to put 40 people under his spell for a minute at Hambleton Forum in August, breaking his current record of 37 people.
The proceeds from the event will be added to funds raised for two-year-old Joshua Peacock who suffers from micro cephaly, leaving him with brain damage.
His mother Vikki, of St James' Drive, Northallerton, said: "His lungs collapsed and he was fighting for his life at just three weeks old. He ended up brain damaged.
"At the time hearing those words was just devastating for the entire family, but we have worked through it and now our world revolves around Josh."
Joshua's fund has been set up by friend Joan Finn, of Harebell Close, Northallerton, to help to pay for special equipment, including a £2,000 raised bed and a £300 specialised baby walker.
Ms Finn said: "I wanted to help to raise money for Josh because the family really deserve the best."
The family are grateful to the many people who have pledged support for Joshua. Mrs Peacock said:"I'm astonished at how kind people can be, even people who don't know me and my family."
Anyone wishing to volunteer for the record attempt should contact Mr Knight on 0870 32175337. To donate money to Joshua's fund call (01609) 766831.
