ARCHITECT Sir Terry Farrell will be returning to his adopted city of Newcastle on Thursday.
He will speak at Northumbria University as part of an event entitled Making Space and Culture Work Together, organised by the North East England History Institute.
Sir Terry's lecture is called Planning and Architecture in Newcastle and Gateshead - Pedestrian Movement and the Uniqueness of Place.
Although born in Sale, Greater Manchester, he moved to Newcastle when he was eight and fell in love with the area.
At school he was always keen on art and he credits an art master from St Cuthbert's Grammar School in Newcastle for nurturing his talent and ambition.
He graduated from Newcastle University in 1961, with a First Class Honours Degree in Architecture and produced some of the most memorable and celebrated architecture around the world.
In Newcastle, Sir Terry was responsible for the development of the East Quayside and the Centre for Life.
