A COUNCIL wants to cut the number of slips, trips and accidents in catering workplaces.
Middlesbrough Council's business partnership, Middlesbrough Catering Forum, holds a free workshop today, showing businesses how to carry out risk assessments and how to report accidents.
"Under law, all businesses have to have an up-to-date risk assessment,'' said Councillor Barry Coppinger, executive member for the environment for Middlesbrough Council.
"We want to work with caterers in Middlesbrough to ensure that they are fulfilling their legal obligations and minimising the chance of an accident.
"I hope lots of catering businesses in the town will spare a couple of hours to make their business safer.''
