A WOMAN grabbed a camera and photographed three thieves who were stealing hubcaps from a neighbour's car, a court was told yesterday.
She gave the film to police, who arrested Christopher Robson, 27, said John Gillette, prosecuting. Robson, of Cornwall Grove, Stockton, who had spent three months on remand in prison, was given an absolute discharge after he pleaded guilty to the thefts in Stockton on August 25 last year.
CIRCULAR WALK: Countryside wardens will lead a 14-mile circular walk taking in Hutton Village and Highcliff, Commondale, the Quakers' Causeway and Pinchinthorpe, in east Cleveland, on Wednesday, July 9. LANE CLOSURE: The outside lane of the A1085 Kirkleatham Lane will be shut on Thursday to allow Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council to carry out work.
STRAWBERRY TEAS: The Guisborough Parish Church branch of the Mothers' Union will serve strawberry teas from 2pm to 4pm next Tuesday, at 2 Danesfort Avenue.
HOSPICE APPEAL: Hartlepool and District Hospice is appealing for donations of old-style 50p pieces, which can be used to generate funds for the service they provide.
WEEKEND FUN: A free funday will be held on Norton Green on Saturday. Organised by Norton Churches Together, the event takes place from 10am to 4pm.
BOOT SALE: A car boot sale will be held at St Nicholas' Parish Hall car park, in Guisborough, from 10am to 3pm on Saturday.
