POLICE hope the public may be able to help trace the owner of a dog that bit a three-year-old girl hard enough to break bones in her hand.
The terrier was outside Towlers shop in Market Place, Leyburn, North Yorkshire, at lunchtime on Saturday.
The dog seemed to be with another dog, which appeared to belong to a man with dark wavy hair.
The man walked away after the incident but officers are hoping other people in the area may be able to identify him. He was wearing a royal blue shirt with the sleeves rolled up.
Witnesses who saw what happened or think they may know who the man is, can contact Leyburn police by calling (01609) 789382.
