AN elated Yarm teenager has fulfilled her ambition to get to the 2003 Horse of the Year Show.
Hollie Davies, 16, and her six-year-old Connemara gelding Western Andy qualified in the Blue Chip Newcomers at the BSJ show at Allerton Park, near Wetherby, on Sunday.
From more than 50 entrants only 14 went clear into the second round and six into the third round, where Hollie was one of three triple clears. She was beaten into second place by just half a second.
She has now used two of her three tickets to HOYS. The first was used up at Barnsley, where she was placed fifth.
She had the second fastest time, but was demoted when she rolled a pole in the third round.
However, she did qualify for the LBSJ Festival at Arena UK in September.
Western Andy also helped her win the North-East JC Championship at Gosforth Park last week.
"Andy is absolutely brilliant, considering he only started jumping last year," said Hollie. "I wish I had him for a few more years because he would be an absolute superstar."
