The Under-9s played in the Community Challenge Trophy tournament run by Mount Pleasant FC on Sunday.
In the group stages they played their first game against Mount Pleasant Whites winning 1-0 with Zac Tervit scoring. The next game they defeated Bedale 1-0 with Matty Plumb getting the goal.
The next game saw a 1-0 defeat to Allstars but in their final group game Spraire found their shooting boots winning 8-0 against Mount Pleasant Blue with Matty Plumb getting four, Danny Stead two and two more for Zac Tervit.
In the quarters they beat Mount Pleasant Red 1-0 with Zac scoring. In the semis they faced Allstars again and with the score finishing 1-1 penalties were needed. Spraire goalie, Jack Binks, saved three spot-kicks to put Spraire into the final were they beat Hartlepool Eldon Lions 1-0 with Wilson Kneeshaw getting the winner to finish off a great day for Spraire and win them their fifth trophy of the season.

* The club are a providing free training session tomorrow, between 10am and noon, at South Park, Darlington, Park entrance.
This is for potential footballers who may be interested in joining Spraire Lads and Lasses FC and the session will be taken by Mark Scott who is qualified to UEFA B standard and is a coach at the Middlesbrough FA Academy.
Girls should be aged between seven and 16-year-old and boys should be between seven and 18.
