A CANCER charity is holding a sponsored dash across the Irish Sea to raise money for nursing care.
Marie Curie Cancer Care's Dublin Dash will set off from points across the North-East on September 19.
The aim of the event is to complete the trip within 24 hours with no cost to the team. The dash ends in Dublin with a disco and ceilidh.
A spokesman for the charity hopes groups taking part will raise up to £250 each towards cancer care.
"Use your imagination and contacts to finance your journey, whether by ferry, plane or hot air balloon," he said.
"Groups of friends and companies are welcome."
The charity improves the quality of life for people affected by cancer.
