TWO teenagers are settling in to work after securing positions through the Modern Apprenticeship programme.
Anthony Navi and Terry Ward have joined Canford Audio in Washington. The firm supplies professional audio, video and broadcast products to the education, military and security sectors.
Terry, 16, from Hetton-le-Hole and Anthony, 17, from Hebburn, won placements after enrolling on a Foundation Modern Apprenticeship in warehousing.
"My role at Canford Audio has given me the opportunity to understand the range of skills that are required to work within a busy firm," said Terry.
"My colleagues have given me lots of support by sharing their expertise and knowledge which has helped me to settle in quickly."
Mandy Mellor, from Canford Audio, said: "We recognise our responsibility to young people within the local area and we want to give them an opportunity to learn and develop new skills within a friendly, busy working environment."
