FORMER employees of a Tyneside microchip plant have started their own business in Scotland's Silicon Glen.
Garrie Vickers and Dr Mark Dellow, who were previously senior engineers at the Siemens plant on North Tyneside, have created Integration Experience to provide expertise in the nano-technology, micro-electronic and bio-electronic sectors.
The business aims to provide engineering resources and consultancy to start-up companies and university spin-outs which are transferring their technologies and products to manufacturing.
Mr Vickers and Dr Dellow, are currently planning to expand operations across the border back on to Tyneside, by establishing links with technology-driven organisations in the region, with the hope of establishing a permanent base by the end of this year.
