A Sedgefield councillor is preparing to hold an annual event which has become a popular fixture in the village calendar.
Councillor Sue Hannan will be hosting one of her cream tea events on Saturday, August 2, between 2pm and 5pm, in the garden of her home in The Lane.
It will be the 12th year that the event has been held and it is always well attended, particularly with the older residents who enjoy meeting friends.
Coun Hannan said: "I started these teas after the death of my uncle, who had suffered with Alzheimer's Disease for several years.
"I wanted to do something to raise money and thought of having a coffee morning, but decided that I could never be organised enough to have something in the morning so a tea would be a better idea.
"We made £200 that first year, so we were over the moon. We decided to repeat it and have so far raised almost £5,000 over the years."
For this year's event, she is joining forces with the Mayor of Sedgefield, Councillor Linda Maddison, who is raising money for the Alzheimer's Disease Society and the elderly of the village through her charity appeal for the year.
In addition to the teas there will be other fundraising attractions.
