THE Bank of England's decision to cut interest rates earlier this month was backed by all but one member of its monetary policy committee.
New governor Mervyn King was among eight members in favour of a quarter point reduction to 3.5 per cent, although Rachel Lomax, his successor as deputy governor responsible for monetary policy, voted against.
